Friday Favorites: Yoga!

Welcome to Friday Favorites, Yoga (and pilates) Edition!

On Saturday mornings in the summertime, Chicago offers free yoga classes in Millenium Park. The morning starts with tai chi (not really my thing), then moves into yoga, followed by pilates, concluding with a type of dance class (whether salsa or hip hop, it’s always changing!). These classes are ending Sept. 11th for the year, and i’m really hoping to catch one more before the summer ends. Nothing beats stretching and working out on a huge lawn in the morning sun. The fact that they offer such awesome classes for free is really a testament to the programming put on by this city

Mine is violet

These classes are B.Y.O.M (Bring Your Own Mat). Previously, when exercising in my home, i’d use a “yoga towel”, which as you can image causes lots of work-out induced slipping all over my hardwood floors. It was definitely time to get my own mat! I chose an Aurorae yoga mat, because of the good reviews that I had read online by other bloggers, and the awesome story of the owner of the company. The violet mat is quite pretty, and that is the one that I chose. I have LOVED it so far. It is super long and spacious, as well as thick and cushy. It has made it easier to practice poses without sliding all over my living room.

I’ve decided to open up a little “online store” using the OpenSky platform to keep all of the things that I like and suggest to all of you in one place. So, if you are interested in this yoga mat, feel free to click on the link to my store below!
