baked & wired

September 22, 2010
My sister was able to come to D.C. to spend some time with me (and take advantage of the lovely hotel spa). We had some fun in the evenings when I was finished working, and she would fill me in on her day’s events. One night, she raved about a marvelous little Georgetown coffee shop, baked & wired that she had visited that morning. As soon as she mentioned how great their chai tea was, I knew that I couldn’t miss it. Since it was only a few blocks from the hotel, I decided to have a little breakfast there one morning.

Get ready for some great pictures, you guys. One of the best parts of spending time with my sister is that she is like a little personal photographer. I have to credit all of the images from this fun little week to sister, my favorite travel companion, and master of pictures that are not just likeable, but lick-able 🙂

quiche

First, a vegetable and goat cheese quiche. Rich & creamy, with a perfect flaky crust.

chai love

Second, chai tea that was rich & strong. My sister compared it to Starbuck’s chai, and I defintiely agreed. Cliche, yes, but the ‘bucks has raised the bar high on the chai.

bee sting

Third, a bee sting, which to quote my sister was “chewy buttery toffee almond goodness”. Pardon me while I lick the computer screen! This place was adorable, with lovely treats displayed under glass covers on cake stands galore. There were even cute little delights for puppies! If I am ever back in Georgetown, you can bet that I will be back at baked & wired.
